It Hurts Inside and You’re Nowhere Around

Hey guys! Catty here. So sorry for not posting on Monday, school has been a little bit crazy as of late and it’s not helping that Arlyn’s tendency to procrastinate is wearing off on me. Here’s a really awful poem for you guys, I promise I’ll have a short story written up as soon as I finish my homework and catch up on everything I have to do (which is a great deal)! Go forth and prosper, lovely readers.

In a place between nowhere and somewhere,

There lingered you and I as we waited in the sky,

While the stars sang down to an ocean blue,

And we questioned everything that we thought we knew,

Under the soft blanket of the galaxy.

Then in that gap between stopping and going,

In the hesitant winter chill while we wanted for a thrill,

And I was slipping through your fingers,

Until only the mere thought of me still lingers,

I’m rapidly fading away.

And in that place between forgetting and remembering,

I memorized the exact color of your eyes and the drumbeat cadence of your sighs,

While you continued to drift, drift far away from me,

But yours was the only safety that I could see,

I couldn’t let you go.

When in the quietness between living and dying,

I was drifting closer to the edge, legs dangling off the ledge,

I’m so incredibly ready to fall,

And with the wind in my ears, I can’t hear you call,

Maybe you can’t save me.

And somewhere between the darkness and light,

You tried to pick up my broken shards but instead, found yourself scarred,

I should have left that space, between nowhere and somewhere,

Because humans aren’t meant to live like a flare,

Burning bright then suddenly dying,

Giving one

Hey! Kalsooni Allskye here, sometimes known as Cattydragon. To introduce myself ... I'm generally a very sarcastic person prone to sudden musings in the middle of dull conversations as well as that mad dash for some paper and pen when a sudden idea hits. I enjoy a great deal of music and reading, but I don't so much enjoy social outing. So there you go! A bit 'bout me.
